Music for Weddings and Special Events
As a wedding violinist, I especially enjoy learning the unique songs that get requested. It is a chance for me to get creative with arranging for solo violin, and sometimes recording my own backing track. A recent request I had was the opening of “Freebird” for the entrance of the groom and officiant for a wedding on the beach, which I seamlessly transitioned into “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift for the bridal party entrance.
I also love getting to utilize other music skills in the process. I recorded ukulele to have a backing tracking for “La Vie En Rose” for one client, and I recorded a piano backing track for “Married Life” from the movie Up for another client—it’s fun getting to essentially play a duet with myself in this way! I find having just an acoustic backing track behind the violin really helps support and set a chill, romantic vibe.
Sometimes I get so inspired by a song request, that I end up turning it into a whole strings arrangement, getting to play strings producer in my little home studio. I had not even heard of “Elliot’s Song” by Dominic Fike and Zendeya before I was asked to play it for a special part of a Persian wedding ceremony. Here is a full strings arrangement in which I recorded all the violin parts and acoustic guitar, as well as mixed and mastered.
I love getting exposed to new music and artists from my clients. I’ve been playing violin for almost twenty-two years now, and it warms my heart to think that all those countless hours of practicing has turned into a craft of being of service to other people and their most special life moments. Music really does create the magic, and I am thankful to play a part.
